Álomszerű 98 perc, amelyek logikailag nem kapcsolódnak egymáshoz annak ellenére, hogy ugyanazok a szereplők szerepelnek benne, ugyanazon vagy egymással összefüggő helyszíneken. Főleg a várban, annak szobáiban, katakombáiban, pincéjében és belső tereiben, szép hegyi háttérrel (az olaszországi Castello Piccolominiben forgatták). Megégetett nők, leszbikus szex, rengeteg zoom a fő- és mellékszereplők indokolatlanul kidülledt szemeire. Hangulatos, színes badarság, amelyben mindenki mindent annyira átél anélkül, hogy a néző tudná, miért. Egyszerre az egészet megnézni, hát az tiszteletre méltó. És egy kupica ital is járna érte.

Oh, my goodness, this movie is bizarre. Black Magic Rites is not some rubbish low-budget trashy Italian B-movie as it may seem at first glance. It is, however, a completely weird, hard-to-grasp, psychedelic avant-garde movie that I stared at open-mouthed at times and which is very hard to evaluate in any way. In the environment of a packed cinema, it was a total blast that captivated the audience. [The Shockproof Film Festival 2022]

The fact that the film "Riti, magie nere e segrete orge nel trecento..." lacks some clarity, that the plotline gets lost, can be quite a big problem for some viewers who simply won't be interested in watching something like that. However, I have to say that this didn't bother me this time and I simply enjoyed what I saw. It is still erotically subtler, but desire interestingly bubbles up here.
