(Prime Video)

angol Season 1 – 70% – Greg Daniels probably exchanged ideas with Michael Schur during the creation of Parks and Recreation about a comedy in which they wouldn't just limit themselves to ordinary heroes living their lives and it almost looks like they make a bet where they both write a series where the main character dies at the beginning. Schur then celebrated successes with the successful The Good Place, while Daniels approaches it from a much more technically based concept – and therefore also loses in the first wave. The story of Nathan and Nora works only on two basic levels. It is an original romantic comedy that appeals to both those who prefer the relationship aspect of the genre (I wanted the main couple to be together from the first scene) and those who prefer the humor (few series have made me laugh out loud this much), the supporting characters are also great, especially Luke. However, the problem lies precisely in the science fiction setting. Whether it's about upload, torrent, updates, hugging, or more intense forms of human contact on a screen, I often felt that the series was actively denying something that had been established only an episode before. Once or twice is excusable, but here it happens unfortunately every other episode. Considering the comedic genre, I am less disappointed, but after backing away from the long-term arc, I'm still grading it conservatively, partly because of my fear that the series might fall apart unpleasantly in the next season. Season 2 – 60% – The small number of episodes suggests that it may not have been so easy to continue the lively mood of the first season, and indeed, it is difficult to connect the storylines, and in some cases (the virus at the headquarters), they are immediately swept off the table in the most predictable way possible. Fortunately, there are still surprising detours, unexpected decisions from the main characters, and with an open ending, I am even more interested in whether Daniels has enough ideas to continue. However, it might be wiser to close the adventure in Lakeview. It's already playing on just the first and second levels on the appeal and chemistry of the main duo and attempting to create a long-term storyline with Freeyond and the rest seems more like an unintentional parody of Mr. Robot rather than a basis for creating plot.
