A nővére, Michelle arra kényszeríti, segítsen neki eltitkolni a helyi szépfiúval való randiját, ráadásul a legjobb barátja, a rokonlélek Joanie egy hónapra elmegy, és nem mondja meg hova és miért. One of those typical stories about a town boy, an outsider, who goes to spend his summers to the countryside and he’s all annoyed and sad about it. However, this year he realizes that something is slowly ending and something else beginning; I don’t know why but the story itself worked well for me. The background of the American state of Rhode Island was beautiful and reminded me of those nice times by the pond close to Žďár where I spent my childhood. Donald Sutherland as a mentor was also absolutely perfect. He came up with a whole bunch of ideas and pieces of life advice which could be given only by someone who’s gone through a lot. I simply loved it. I don’t think that every teenager with a low self-esteem should watch the movie. It is more about a boy at the end of his childhood who’s beginning to be more mature and responsible... and every one of us has experienced this.
