In an isolated alpine hut at the turn of the 15th century Albrun is a young girl growing up alone. As an adult, she is a single mother and a marked woman, outcast by a society twisted in deep-rooted superstitions and misogyny. Still haunted by the death of her own mother and increasingly abused by the community around her, Albrun starts to defy the role she has been dealt in life and embarks on a path of self-empowerment the price of which may be an even greater darkness than she has ever known before. Szeretne egy bébi levest egy hangulatos környezetben kandalló mellett, egy költői alpesi panoráma előtt? Nagyon lassú életrajzi meditáció egy elhagyatott hegyi helyen élő boszorkányról. Atmoszférikus, szinte metafizikus! Egy néző ellenes őrültség, amellyel senki más, akinek ennyi érzéke van a formális szépséghez, nem foglalkozott volna. Ezért éljen Feigelfeld! [Sitges FF]

Hagazussa A Heathen's Curse is definitely an atmospheric Austrian-German horror movie. However, I felt like the atmosphere was not so strong due to the pacing. The movie turned out to be mostly about some weird ideas and images of living in solitude and how almost no one talks. Hagazussa A Heathen's Curse left an impression on me, even though it was probably not the impression they were aiming for.
