Carlos Rueda is the director of a children's theater in Buenos Aires, a city haunted by the disappearance of thousands who have spoken up against the dictator in power. When his wife, Cecilia, disappears after writing a controversial article, Carlos discovers he has the power to look into the faces of those seeking the missing and see the fate of the people they love. Kiváló színészek unalmas rendezésben. A legjobb gyógyír a film lomhaságára az, ha egyáltalán nem csináljuk meg. A filmben tárgyalt témában nincs hiány erőteljes pillanatokban és fontosságban, de ahogyan előadja, az elaltat, és az ember zavarba kerül. Egyik oldalon a valóság dimenziójára támaszkodik, másik oldalon szürrealista elemekkel aláássa azt. Ezek szépek, költőiek, de a történet elmesélésben a fogaskerekek nyikorognak. A film nagy bakija pedig az, hogy a különvált központi pár története a percek múlásával átcsap egy gusztustalanul öncélú, propagandisztikus üzenetbe.
