A Voices from Beyond című film nem egy Fulci-féle horror, hanem egy misztikus szappanopera, krimi cselekménnyel. A nagy konyhakéssel hasba szúrt kis srác pedig csak azért van benne, hogy ne felejtsék el, ki áll a film mögött. A Voices from Beyond film misztikus szappanoperaként jól működik, a tóparton a szeretett lányával beszélgető apa-szellem jelenetei kellemesen költőiek, a színészek tipológiailag jól vannak eltalálva, és a sztoriban (a szappanopera műfaján belül) is minden összeáll. Beleértve a csattanót is, amire nem számítottam, és ami kellemesen meglepett. Ha ötvenéves hölgy lennék, fel is kiabálnék: "Jézusom! Ez borzasztó!"
