A változás nehéz. Ez az első dolog, amit a 80 éves Grump elmond nekünk. Bár sokan gúnyolják az időseket, amiket ő mond, azt kortól függetlenül, mindenki fontolóra veheti. Imádja az otthonát, melyet saját kezűleg épített. Imádja a munkáját, mint farmer. Szereti a feleségét, aki folyamatos ápolást igényel a demencia miatt, már meg sem ismeri. Grumpot nem zaklatja fel semmi, viszont lehangolt, amiért egy sérülés miatt Helsinkibe kell mennie a menyéhez, egy teljesen ismeretlen környezetbe. (Cinemax)

The Finnish have a gift among their Scandinavian brothers. To write uncompromising, cynic comedies that contain absolutely brilliant humor, and on top of that, a bit of truth. The Grump is one of those and I have to say that the music of Hilmar Örn Hilmarsson only added to its uniqueness and thus created a really great movie, from which I would maybe cut a few scenes so that it wouldn’t be so long. But otherwise it‘s a great movie.

A deeply human story about a man who refuses to accept that the world works differently than it did when he was young. The film is full of slightly humorous situations that made me laugh out loud, yet I wouldn't consider it a comedy at all. It's a kind of Nordic caress of the soul, underlined by truly beautiful music, although the old man was sometimes frustrating in the way he could drive everyone around him crazy.
