A film első fele, amelyben a Lady a burmai kormány urait kezd bosszantani, túlságosan leegyszerűsítően van előadva, és valahogy mechanikusan, unalmasan van megrendezve és összevágva. A második felében a történet megelevenedik a szereplők érzelmeibe és motivációiba való bepillantással, de a szentimentalizmus (a férjétől való elválás) hosszan elhúzódó erőltetéséhez vezet. A film két fele közötti érzelmi összekapcsolás nehézkes. Formálisan (meglepő módon) csak rutin. Michelle Yeoh jó. Ha Burma másodszor is, akkor inkább a negyedik Rambo filmet részesítem előnyben.
