After Stijn marries Carmen, 'the hottest chick in Amsterdam' and becomes a father, he retains several girlfriends. Carmen accepts his behaviour, but when a lump in her left breast turns out to be malignant, their relationship is put under pressure by Stijn's 'polyamory'. Of all times, Stijn now begins a passionate relationship with artist Roos, who becomes an outlet and a surrogate wife for him. This adultery almost ends in divorce. Shortly after Stijn does choose for Carmen, the cancer has spread. The contrast between hominess and big-city life, the ignorance of his surroundings and unexpected hallucinations illustrate the conflict that tears Stijn up. (Nederlands Film Festival)
