Ashes of Time Redux is inspired by Louis Cha's novel "The Eagle-Shooting Heroes." It centers on a man named Ouyang Feng (Leslie Cheung). I found this audiovisual opera of movement about as exciting and intriguing as a subtitle-free dialogue of two Chinese sitting motionless at a kitchen table.
