James lába előtt hever a világ. Friss diplomával a zsebében a fiatalember arra készül, hogy valóra váltsa álmát, és átruccanjon Európába. Ám a szülei bejelentik, hogy nem tudják az utazás költségeit magukra vállalni. A csalódott ifjú így kénytelen munkát vállalni a helyi vidámparkban. Nemcsak keveset fizetnek, de a munka megalázó és unalmas: a hideg német sör és a csábos francia lányok helyett be kell érnie az állandóan zsibongó kölyökhaddal és a lefárasztott szülőkkel. Tini élmények egy nyárról amerikai vidéken: új barátok és az első szerelem. Szép párkapcsolati film, amely nem kínál se nevetést, se könnyeket, de legalább igyekszik minél természetesebb, polgári és "életszerű" lenni.

A classic movie about how some people were made for each other and some aren’t, wrapped in a story for youngsters around the age of 20. The Kristen Stewart and Jesse Eisenberg duo carry the entire Adventureland forward and everything seems somehow wonderfully natural. It’s a really enjoyable watch.

Boring, so much that it ended up being the only thing that surprised me about this film. One star for the music and one star for the criminally underused Kristen Wiig. I wasn't amused, I wasn't moved... Nothing. It’s a shame.

As a probe into the world of young (not only) college students, I wasn't very impressed with Adventureland, especially because it didn't quite meet my genre expectations. It was supposed to be a romantic dramedy, but there were plenty of comic situations, the dramatic line around the characters' fates and development was more annoying than impressive, and there was no romance in the true sense of the word. In short, a film that evaporates like steam over a pot after the screening, with its biggest downside for me being the unlikeable characters and the rather shallow plot.
