Tom Hardy nagyszerű színészi teljesítménye. Hihetetlen, hogy egy ilyen különc karakter ennyire excentrikus ábrázolásában egy pillanatra sem játszik túl. Kár, hogy Refn forgatókönyvírása nem őrizte meg a karakterének fokozatos, pontos pszichológiai feltárását a film teljes ideje alatt (új szereplőkkel interakcióba lépve új környezetben), és a tartalmas végkifejlet helyett a szerzői víziója repetitív művészi absztrakcióvá hígult.
