The film is based on a Slovak best-selling novel of the 1990s bringing a sarcastic simile of the rise of an individual to power. It is a story of a simple-minded, mysterious and brutal man called Rácz who comes to work in a hotel basement in the capital. He builds a career and gains financial and political power. This is the background of the exciting, foolish, dramatic and tragic situations between Rácz and the characters that come into his way. Nothing can stop him on his way to achieve his goals. He gains the support and respect of the people around the hotel without revealing his real face or identity. Néhány szereplő csontvelőig kínos. Miro Noga egyszerűen NEM alkalmas arc egy játékfilmhez, még akkor sem, ha cirkuszi bohócot játszana benne. De Ady Hajdu igyekszik, és Andrej Hryc pedig erre a szerepre született. Vannak logikailag megmagyarázhatatlan fordulatok a filmben, de a befejezés sokat megment belőle, és rendesen elmagyarázza a sürgető gondolatot. A rendszerváltás óta Szlovákiában készült tíz játékfilm közül ez a film biztosan az első öt között van. De bók ez egyáltalán?
