Another Western romance with John Wayne, who is simply such a great guy that you can forgive him for these Westerns where violence always occurred very quickly. The brawls come off quite grotesque, which adds to the beauty of the film, at least from a perspective of many years of distance. Jake doesn't have it easy. He's old and in debt. Young Jerry (Duke), who is a real man, helps him a bit. He has to, because Jake is accused of a serious crime. Qualitatively similar to "Born to the West," but I still found it more entertaining in some places.
