After livestock belonging to rancher Walter Colby fall victim to a spider attack, entomologist Diane Ashley (Tiffany Bolling) arrives and tries to help Rack deal with the crisis: but with the big county fair fast approaching, Mayor Connors refuses to let them quarantine the ranch. Soon the remaining residents of the town must barricade themselves at Emma Washburns lodge in an effort to save themselves from the eight-legged invaders in the ultimate man vs. spider showdown. A kezdet borzasztóan lassú. Halott tehén, sok fecsegés. Halott kutya, sok fecsegés. Halott bika, még több fecsegés. De amikor az emberek is elkezdenek hullani, és hőseink egy elbarikádozott házba rekednek, a film végre erőre kap. Csak kár, hogy a zárófeliratok előtt 15 perccel szorulnak be a házba. Szakmai szempontból jól rendezett laza szórakoztató "horror" western köntösben, de kiszámítható, sok hasonló filmből (pl. Madarak) összeollózott forgatókönyvvel. Amint egy új szereplő megjelenik a színen, már tudod, mi fog történni vele. De egyet meg kell hagyni - a filmben rengeteg valódi, valóban élő tarantula van - és a színészek úgy kapják el őket a kezükkel, mintha semmi sem történne!

It is not that I have anything against tarantulas, or suffer from arachnophobia, however I still got rather unpleasant chills down my spine whilst watching this movie. Respect to the actors who had dozens of spiders put all over them. However, if you are sensitive to this issue, and against hurting these furry arthropods, this movie is not for you - few are trampled or run over by cars in the movie. Otherwise, Kingdom of the Spiders works well for a movie of its genre. If you can get past the somewhat slow pacing and the overly literal anti-DDT message, you are in for a fairly decent experience of a horror movie in the end.
