Robotok

Dramaturgiailag a leggyengébb a nagy költségvetésű digitális animációs filmek közül. A Jégkorszak című film legalább nem tetette magát többnek, mint a szuper viccek kötetlen sorozatának. A Robotok film a nyitó részben felvázolja a családi értékeket, és a végén visszatér hozzájuk, de a köztes rész teljesen más film - komikus és komolytalan jelenetek robotikus összevisszasága, a mai popkulturális életmódunkra tett ügyes és süket utalásokkal megfűszerezve. Másrészt - a robotvilág lenyűgöző a különböző találmányokkal és aranyos ötletekkel (az első tömegközlekedési utazás Robot Cityben fantasztikus!), és maguk a karakterek is nagyon szépen kidolgozottak. Csak kár, hogy nem kidolgozottabb a jellege. Az utolsó harmadban már unatkoztam. (2005.03.17)

It's a shame that even the excellent animation cannot cover up the overly significant plot holes. The film can "boast" of not only straightforward simplicity, which kids will appreciate but also plenty of ideas that don't fall into the category of "original." The city itself, along with the storytelling concept, undoubtedly recalls Proyas' I, Robot, including sweeping camera movements and the grand heroic music by John Powell, who, however, relies a bit too much on motifs from Paycheck in this film. In contrast, there are plenty of references and cute jokes (which will be appreciated mainly by older viewers), and when considering the good selection of voices for the main characters, it creates a somewhat conflicting impression. For younger audiences (preferably 1st grade of elementary school), it's definitely a super cool hit, but I give it an indecisive three stars. (2005.09.04)

Robots is full of so many ideas, gags and allusions of all kinds that I will gladly forgive the film its millionth variation on a well-known story. By the way, even though I usually watch dubbed cartoons, in this case it would be a sin - I wouldn't want to lose the wonderful Robin Williams as the "evil" Fender, Mel Brooks as the inventor Bigweld or Paul Giamatti, who lent his voice to the great character of the janitor (he made me laugh to tears).__P.S. The robotic old lady feeding robotic pigeons, but she has to wind them at the same time to make them peck at all... That's one of the best ideas. (2012.03.05)

It seems to me that it is possibly even a bit too schematic animated film, which has good moments when human life is paraphrased by the robotic one. The opening title sequence is absolutely fantastic and would work great as a stand-alone short film. The rest of the film is somehow predetermined and its development is too expected.
