Egy unalmas amerikai szitkom egy diszfunkcionális családról játékfilm formájában. A viccek fele nem vicces, a többi úgy-ahogy elmegy. Szerencsére a film végére sikerül megismerni a szereplőket és felkapaszkodni, de a korábbi felvételek nagy része éppen attól szenved, hogy nem értjük, mi vicces az adott jelenetekben. Témájában azonos, de sokkal ötletesebb a Frank Oz Halálos temetés című vígjátéka (2008).

Negatives: 1) The jump from a moving car is incredibly badly filmed. 2) I was annoyed by the gradual reconciliation of relationships in the family, real life just doesn’t work that way. Positives: 1) Zooey Deschanel. 2) Not that I spent the whole time laughing, but I had quite a few opportunities to do so. 3) The funeral. I saw two films with this theme in two days and both of them turned out great. 4) Overall impression. I found this to be an extremely feel-good film.
