angol From the first trailer, I was looking forward to a grittier dinosaur affair, but unfortunately the film disappoints on multiple levels. It's a huge mistake that only Adam Driver is stuck on the planet, if there was at least a 15 man crew stuck there we could have got a proper R-rated dinosaur survival, where they wouldn't have skimped on the gore or darker atmosphere, and I would currently be drooling with bliss and screaming with excitement to the heavens, and wouldn't mind at all that it's silly and story-wise flat, but too bad. The dinosaurs looked cool though, and when they are on set they are something to watch. I liked the high tech weapons and the pretty decent scares. But everything in between was pretty mind-numbing and uninteresting, with no pace, no tension and no atmosphere, which is a mystery they couldn't use. 5/10. ()

angol Great premise! I wanted to see something like this, as a kid, 25 years ago. 65 had more potential. So many great possibilities. It could have been a solid survival drama, a horror film, an action flick for the brainless, but it's everything and nothing at the same time. It’s not bad, but not great either. There are few dinosaurs and the aliens sometimes behave like very stupid earthlings. Driver is good, but what’s the point when he doesn’t have much to work with. Beck and Woods wasted an opportunity and we won't see something like this in the cinema for a long time. ()

angol I don't really fault the makers of 65 for wanting to make anything other than a fun flick that isn't completely stupid. And they succeeded. The problem is that Adam Driver is a bit wasted in films like this. But he did go for it and it's a good thing it didn't end up being a disaster despite all the problems. And Ariana Greenblatt is a sweetheart! ()

angol Unfortunately, the meaty premise and the very committed Adam Driver are not enough to save the incredibly bland direction and unimaginative script, which only meets the bare dramaturgical minimum to call it a survival thriller. It's a relatively short film and some scenes from the trailer are even missing, but it still feels padded and a few comedic scenes accompanied by Looney Tunes music are really eyebrow-raising. This plot would have benefited from a more B-movie, gritty, R-rated execution, with fewer dinosaurs and more night scenes to hide the imperfect effects, but unfortunately the creative ambition to show as much as possible was combined with the ability to tell as little and as interestingly as possible, and I'm not sure what and whom it's supposed to impress in the end. angol As a lover of dinosaurs and a die-hard fan of Jurassic Park, I'm always happy with the release of a film with these overgrown lizards that doesn't fall under the aforementioned "universe" – and there are very few such films. The final product, although it brings down the initial expectations a bit, still stays within the average and thanks to the reasonable running time it hardly gets boring. The purpose of the space mission is admittedly stripped down, and the family storyline felt futile, but thankfully the film primarily concentrates on the struggle to survive on Earth 65 million years ago. (Spoiler alert!) The scenes with the dinosaurs were satisfactory, especially the cave sequence, which makes imaginative use of a motion sensor, and the final confrontation between Mills and a sort of hybrid of a T-Rex and a dog. Although it is predictable, you already know from the title and at the latest with the first shot of the sky what moment the Earth is in, I had fun watching it in the cinema and the ninety minutes were perfectly adequate. angol I only knew about this movie from a brief description on HBO. I was excited about a sci-fi survival story from the Jurassic era, but ended up disappointed. The aliens didn't visually differ much from our current population, and some even spoke English (which would undoubtedly impress Al Murray/Pub Landlord). Instead of survival, it felt more like babysitting, and instead of scientific fiction, it emphasized true family values. All things considered, it was more of a family movie that would probably thrill children up to ten years old, but for me, it felt like a bit of a slog, especially when logic had to be set aside most of the time. / Lesson learned: If you allow your spaceship to be destroyed by unruly asteroids, at least make sure it happens above a conveniently inhabited planet with a breathable atmosphere. angol A pleasant surprise indeed! A very interesting story that appears to be sci-fi, but takes us back to the time of dinosaurs, approximately 65 million years ago. The effects CGI are well done, the plot is engaging, and it's enjoyable to watch. Adam is cool, and the girl is also pretty good (which is a compliment coming from me, as I often have issues with child actors). What I realized only after finishing the whole movie is that we're actually only watching two characters/actors, and it's absolutely sufficient. There's no need for hundreds of more. This unique aspect adds to the intimacy and perfectly complements the movie's concept. So, for me, it's a good sci-fi movie that I would happily watch again. ()
