Nice animation and a strong story about the life of two flowers living next to each other, with a hungry caterpillar awaiting in the distance. Flowers with human traits are great, and the resolution is unexpected and strong. 8/10.

The Empty Man made it to American theaters, so fortunately it's not a cheap film, but I'm rather hesitant about it. It has an excellent prologue that nicely builds up anticipation, but after that, not much interesting happens. The problem is its running time. 137 minutes for a horror film is unbearable, someone went a bit overboard with the minutes, and it greatly affects the pace of the film, which is very, very slow. It's interesting that the film takes a different direction than it initially seems, but I would rather see a supernatural entity killing teenagers in an interesting way, than watching the protagonist wandering back and forth. It does improve a bit in the finale, where there is an interesting climax, but that the film is actually more of a mysterious crime thriller, as it has very few horror elements. I avoided this series for a long time because Mike Flanagan's work doesn't really suit me, but I gave it a chance, and unfortunately, my skepticism towards was confirmed. It took me less than three weeks to watch it, while I usually manage to watch series in two days. You’ll probably crucify me, as I know how much people love this series, but I didn't find anything positive in it that would entertain me. On the contrary, I have never been annoyed by so many things as here. The series is primarily a drama, and the horror genre plays a secondary role, which is my first criticism. I'm not going to wait two episodes for a jump-scare. The characters are unlikeable and annoying. No one is funny, smart, or entertaining. All the characters seemed interchangeable, and I didn't care about their fate at all. The intertwining of the past with the present didn't sit well with me, as the atmosphere of the mansion was quite good, and I liked the setting, but when that atmosphere is suddenly replaced with family drama (do we really have to deal with accounting in a horror??) and a funeral that would last five minutes elsewhere is stretched to an incredible two episodes, it was the final nail in the coffin for me. I can praise the ghosts – the lady with the crooked neck and the man with the hat could easily fit into The Conjuring universe – but in those ten hours, they were shown less than three times, and that is pitifully little. It is funny that the story ends where it should have started. So, if the whole series had taken place in the mansion, with the ghosts wreaking havoc there for a full ten hours, I would have been satisfied, but the director chose the drama genre and relied on emotions, and that's not what I seek. The sleep-inducing pace, where not much happens in an episode, didn't really help me with watching. I will avoid the second season like the devil avoids crosses. I believe that women like this series because of the drama, the emotions, and children, but for me, it was a chore. Excellent alien horror taking place on an airplane. For 13 minutes, it serves up a tense atmosphere in the setting of an airplane, where an alien object approaching from the outside is craving for passengers. The look of the monster is brutally cruel, captured excellently, the atmosphere is and there is a good twist. Actually, everything worked out here. 9/10.

A very good horror film from Indonesia, a country that can occasionally pleasantly surprise. The story focuses on a pregnant woman and her husband, who takes her to a local hospital. When he returns a few hours later with her belongings, the building is abandoned and burnt down, and he learns from a local that the hospital has been closed for 15 years and definitely haunted. I liked that the film doesn't bother with any major character development or interesting dialogues, but gets to the point quite quickly and it is so frightening that it might be too much for some people, which personally suits me more than enduring a 40-minute introduction as is customary in horror films. The atmosphere of the abandoned hospital is excellent, the scares work, the atmosphere is solid, and I didn't expect to see great gore – giving birth through the mouth is probably the craziest scene of the year, but there were also intestines or a headless walking man. The only downside is the ending, where they resorted to cheap CGI effects and thereby slightly spoiled the impression, but otherwise I am satisfied, I got definitely more than I expected. If I was supposed to watch a Christmas comedy this year, then only France with Alain Chabat, and it is very well done. In fact, I wouldn't be afraid to label this film as one of the best with a Christmas theme. Santa's 92,000 elves get sick and he decides to go to Earth among humans for the first time to find an effective cure. I liked that Santa didn't really fit into our world, he doesn't know our customs, traditions at all, and that creates a lot of funny situations. The film takes a more family-friendly route, it's not that crazy and definitely not perverted, it's simply a show for the whole family with an excellent performance by Chabat as Santa and a few decent jokes. Fun entertainment with a nice resolution and the opening, where toys are being made, is literally brilliant. The duel of the Japanese Alice in Borderland against the Korean Sweet Home is won by Japan. Sweet Home is a decent adaptation with an excellent concept, but not completely satisfying, and unfortunately the series did not manage to fully sell the material. The idea of ​​an infection transforming people into monsters instead of zombies is really cool, but it's a shame that the series takes place only in an apartment building, and practically never leaves. So there is no army clearing the city and that really disappoints me. The first three episodes maintain a very intense pace, not sparing action or violence, and introduce quite a few monsters. The monsters range from decent to excellent (Slenderman and the spider turned out well). and I also enjoyed the characters (the mysterious gangster and the firefighter with military training were great), but after the third episode, the series slightly falls apart and focuses on what I feared the most: character development and interaction, which I really don't want to see during a monster apocalypse. It's a pity, from the second half, the monsters step aside and the series takes a less satisfying direction. Episode 9 kicked it off action-wise, but the finale is too calm for my taste and definitely not appropriately epic. But I have to praise the music a lot, the popular soundtrack Warriors from the game League of Legends played at least five times and fit perfectly. The visuals are also well done and overall, I wasn't bored, but there could have been much more done with the concept. Nevertheless, I'm still looking forward to the second season, because I'm really interested in that world. Pretty good. A psychiatric hospital and a person in it who doesn't want to leave the room and walk through the door at all costs. The journey through purgatory and the final twist are literally perfect. 8/10.

A pretty interesting job about what it feels like to be a person with multiple personalities in one. In my opinion, too chatty and loud, but the idea is interesting. 6/10.

After the war gem The Eight Hundred, I was really looking forward to Sacrifice, as Hu Guan has shown unprecedented talent and I wonder where this guy had been hiding all this time. Unfortunately, however, there were three other directors involved in Sacrifice and there is a decline in quality. The biggest problem seems to lie in the fact that they took on a not very interesting historical event, defense of a bridge against American bombing. More or less the entire two hours are only about how a group of soldiers tries to pass through the bridge and repair it before the bombers. There is no ground action here, which disappointed me the most, I enjoy planes in war the least, so in this respect, the film is disappointing. Additionally, I was disappointed that the film is told from three different perspectives, so many scenes are repeated and I don't like that either. Sacrifice is decently shot and there are maybe two or three good gore shots and the artillery shooting is also something, but I would have been much happier if they had focused on this for a maximum of half an hour and then moved on to the final battle in Kumsong.
