A solid crime thriller starring the brilliant and good-looking Carey Mulligan, who at 36 looks great. The protagonist is traumatized by a tragic event from the past and seeks revenge on all men who abuse women under the influence of alcohol. The concept is great and it's a bit of a shame that the film avoids violence, as in a few scenes it clearly called for it, but it seems to be aimed at academic awards, so maybe that's why. The film flows at a good pace, can be funny in certain scenes, occasionally creates a decent psycho atmosphere, and the ending is definitely unexpected, although not entirely satisfying. A decent film that captivates more with its story, actors, and atmosphere, and if it didn't shy away from brutality, it would be even better. Dragon fantasy in amazing CGI animation with everything that belongs to it. A feature length movie would be welcome. Awesome! 8/10.

Netflix is starting this year quite promisingly with the adaptation of the legendary thief Lupin, brilliantly portrayed by Omar Sy. The opening heist at the Louvre is absolutely perfect, and it's a bit disappointing that the series doesn't stick to that style. Instead, it focuses on investigation and pursuit of the truth. But as a crime drama, it works decently well. Omar Sy brilliantly outsmarts the police and handles everything with ease. The show is fast-paced, entertaining, and smart. There are allegedly two more episodes to come, which are currently unavailable, so hopefully they will be released soon. Decent Danish thriller with elements of exploitation! Merciless businesswomen kidnap young women for their bio-hacking experiment to suppress the aging process, and they carry it out in an underground medical facility where the women are kept in cages like animals. It’s shot very nicely, with decent performances (the protagonist is naturally incredibly attractive, so the viewer cheers for her a lot), and the tension works as well. Breeder picks up nicely in the last half hour, though it's disappointing that gore was relatively spared. It rather plays on a psychological string, but that's how Martyrs was as well. I slightly overrate it, since nothing has come out from my favorite subgenre for a long time, and Breeder is definitely decent. A hallucinogenic, dreamlike, captivating, and quite entertaining film starring Justin Long. He  takes a mysterious drug at a party and goes on a crazy trip. Roaming through rooms, alternative dimensions, hallucinations, and a somewhat fantastical view of the world. Once the dealer played Ronnie Gene Blevins comes into the scene (he is simply exemplary and terrifying), things take a rather decent turn. Decent. Story****, Action***, Humor**, Violence*, Entertainment****, Music***, Visual****, Atmosphere****, Tension***. 6/10.

A strong erotic drama on the edge of sexploitation, with a sometimes uncomfortable, authentic, hopeless and very realistically portrayed insight into today's prostitution. The story focuses on the beautiful 19-year-old Laura, she is in school, but lacks the money to pay for everything and so she tries this "last" option of sex for money. This leads to an uncontrollable and fateful spiral, where we see the protagonist going from one apartment to another and doing quite naughty things. Nudity is shown in all its beauty and it may be uncomfortable for some female viewers. France is once again on form. Nice atmosphere and a good-looking villain, but that's pretty much it. It looks good, but more drive wouldn't hurt. 6/10.

The animation is very good at the level of Disney and Pixar, but the story didn't really interest me and the humor is absent, which is the most disappointing. However, the different monsters are great and the finale is nicely action-packed and grand at the same time. The final plot twist is also interesting and well-thought-out. Better than the third one. A praised horror film from the Philippines about exorcism set in a prison. Personally, exorcism is probably the most boring and least interesting theme in horror, it’s impossible to come up with anything interesting. A priest in a black cassock holds a cross and sprinkles holy water everywhere, we've seen that hundreds of times. Fortunately, Clarita is at least a little bit interesting thanks to the prison setting, which is not completely typical for the genre. I liked the decent make-up effects,there are some quite brutal scenes (a finger being bitten off or a nice twisting of a woman's joints in the shower, that reminded me of the legendary scene from Suspiria). It’s nicely shot and the acting is not bad either. The atmosphere is decent in some places, but the scenes outside of the prison didn't really interest me and lost some pace, but as the first new release of this year, it's decent. Fans of exorcism could be even more satisfied. Story***, Action>No, Humor>No, Violence***, Entertainment***, Music***, Visuals***, Atmosphere****, Tension***. 6/10.

I have to join the side of those who were also did not enjoy this film at all. It’s a tedious and incredibly slow drama, pretending to be a thriller thanks to the final twist, which had no impact on me because I wished it to end already. Son Ye-jin is probably the only positive aspect, she acts really well and the visuals are traditionally okay, but otherwise it was completely off for me.
