Joshua Leonard starred in the indie films "The Ever After," which premiered at the Los Angeles Film Festival; "Among Ravens"; and "Wildlike," which premiered at the Montreal Film Festival in August 2014.
Among his numerous other festival films are "Humpday," which won an Independent Spirit Award in 2009; Vera Farmiga's "Higher Ground," which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2011; and "The Motel Life," which won the Audience Award at the Rome Film Fest and was nominated in the same category at the Chicago International Film Festival in 2013.
Some of Leonard's many television credits include HBO's "True Detective," "Criminal Minds," "United States of Tara," "Hung," "CSI: Miami" and the critically acclaimed HBO movie "Live from Baghdad." He also directed episodes of the new HBO series "Togetherness."
Leonard's directorial debut, the "The Youth in Us," premiered at Sundance in 2005, followed by his art documentary "Beautiful Losers." His narrative feature debut, "The Lie," premiered at Sundance in 2011.
Leonard first hit the scene in 1999 with the feature film sensation "The Blair Witch Project."
Leonard has also directed music videos for popular acts such as Fitz and the Tantrums, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, and Morcheeba, as well as teaching directing and acting at The New York Film Academy, UC Irvine, and Academia Internacional De Cinema in Sao Paolo, Brazil.
