One of the few films with Dolph Lundgren that I liked. Of course, it's not Lundgren's merit, but the gentleman behind the camera, John Woo is simply amazing.

Racism inside out! John Woo likes to use all sorts of incredible awkward transitions to give his film some serious energy (the face swap in Face/Off, the twin in A Better Tomorrow II). But I really didn't expect Dolph Lundgren to suffer from a phobia of the color white. True, the atmosphere and especially the visuals of the film were helped by this crutch (the milk fight, the final shootout), but everything looked so unnatural that it was a shame. Still, Blackjack is one of the better films starring Dolph. It may be silly (the script) and full of unnecessary characters (a clever little girl - brrr, her parents, a doctor), but it does have at least pleasantly imaginative action scenes, such as a house robbery culminating in a jump on a trampoline. Woo is simply Woo - even if it's made for TV and made for fun. I round up two and a half stars for the line "I can't. He spilled milk on me!" which I will use from now on.
