Mindenki ismer mindenkit a távoli északi településen, a norvégiai Utmarkban. (HBO Europe)

Isten hozott Senkiföldjén (2021)

angol A convincing story that doesn't resort to cheap exaggeration. I had a really good time watching this series, mainly because of the humor used and the hilarious situations that resulted from misinterpretations of what was seen or heard. 4*+ ()

Øye for øye (2021) (E01)

angol The plot doesn't seem to be very eventful and the pace is pretty slow but I found myself drawn to the individual characters and their subtle humor. So, right from the start, I'm giving it four stars, hoping I won't regret it later. 4*- ()

Dog Day (2021) (E02)

angol Well, things are going smoothly so far. Even after the second episode, I'm not let down by the fairly simple plot. I'm actually quite fond of all the local characters, even as they navigate their everyday challenges. Perhaps it's the ordinariness that I find appealing. And how could I be bored when the story takes a sudden turn to explore a Sami god of thunder, only to then delve into the lives of two Albanian professionals? ()

Alt har sin pris (2021) (E03)

angol New and interesting characters keep popping up, the plot is picking up momentum, and I'm thoroughly enjoying the ride. The creators keep the story grounded yet intriguing. It's entirely believable and feels like it could unfold in a nearby reality, maybe just around the corner. So far, they've delivered quite an achievement. 4*+ ()

Kjøtt og blod (2021) (E04)

angol I must say, the story is unfolding to my satisfaction. The Norwegian creators continue to win me over with their subtle humor. I used to think we had issues with package deliveries here, but let's be thankful we don't have a company called "Fix & Move" - that would be a nightmare!:-) The repeated closing of the coffin and the unexpected sexual education scenes were just the cherry on top. ()

Av jord er du kommet (2021) (E05)

angol In the fifth episode, the creators stuck to their tried-and-tested formula without adding anything extra. But what would creators of many other shows give to achieve that level? The Norwegians are maintaining their quality so far, and I eagerly anticipate each new episode. ()

Ulven kommer (2021) (E06)

angol I was thoroughly entertained again. The episode's introduction, with its clever hiding spot for both Finnish alcohol smugglers, already had me hooked. Yet, the interplay between speculation and reality managed to top that. It's a reminder that what we see and hear isn't always the whole truth. Even in the northern reaches of Norway, owls aren't what they seem. I'm genuinely excited to see what the creators have in store for the final two episodes. ()

Hello Darkness (2021) (E07)

angol The local panopticon continued to captivate me, and even the staunchest skeptic would have to admit it's no fluke. It's been a while (if ever) since I lauded the creators of any visual medium for nodding to the current trend of inclusivity, even where simple logic might not support it. However, I officially tip my hat to the Norwegians for their seamlessly integrated and non-intrusive representation. 4*+ ()

Og de levde lykkelig (2021) (E08)

angol The excellently-written episode, and especially the superb monologue delivered by Heige, deserves five stars from me. Once again, I was thoroughly entertained, and I'm eager to see where the wide-open door in the finale will lead us in the next season. ()
