(CirkoFilm)

angol I have been suspecting it for quite a while, but now I can say it with certainty – yes, I am a perverted individual. I enjoyed The Green Butchers as much as the French Delicatessen, even though the two films were from completely different backgrounds. Did I like the fact that a “different” type of meat was processed? In my defense, it was mainly the excellent black humor used in both films, but who knows, I have no idea what's going on in my subconscious. ()

angol A very morbid black comedy, which sometimes makes one’s blood run cold in their veins. Mads Mikkelsen as the totally deranged butcher is quite repulsive with his brutal haircut and excessive sweating. There's nothing to fault in his performance, as usual, but this time he's a bit overshadowed by Nikolaj Lie Kaas. How could that not be the case, since he plays not only another crazy butcher but also his retarded twin brother? I've never been bored with films that Anders Thomas Jensen has directed or at least co-written, and The Green Butchers is certainly no exception. (90%) ()

angol A movie about loving one’s trade, bullying and family traumas. The bit about selling human meat is just a catalyst for a sea change for two wrecks of men. Jensen masterfully steers the story through unexplored alleys to be able to serve up chicken delight in the finale. Lie Kaas and Mikkelsen are simply excellent. It was an accident. You just sold his thigh, dumbass! ()
