There's not much to go on from the reference fragment Who Did I Kiss Yesterday? Nevertheless, the theme and title derived from Ferry Gyulai's play of the same name, based on a text by Emanuel Železný and Jiří Kavan, is sympathetic. The classic "I am someone else" situation is developed well. Truda Binarová's charms could distract even today. On the other hand, there is the tender beauty of the teenage Jarmila Beránková and the harsh humor of Milka Balek-Brodská. The problem in the production apparently arose when the originally intended director Zvonimír Rogoz was replaced by Jan Svoboda. The quality of the script based on Monika Jelínková's original theme is evidenced by the fact that the same material was also filmed in a French version. A comparison of the two films would certainly yield a number of interesting insights. (2019.10.02)
