Screenwriter Halina Pawlovská sets this autobiographic comedy in the period between the 1968 Soviet occupation of Czechoslovakia and the post-Velvet Revolution 'taste of freedom'. One prominent plot line centers on family problems involving the ridiculous figure of the comically despotic Ukrainian father. The heroine gently and humorously pulls significant social events INTO the plot and analyzes them FROM her personal perspective. (forgalmazó hivatalos szövege)

angol Now I know why it took me years to finally see this movie. It’s actually pretty worthless. The story was penned by Halina Pawlovská and the main role was portrayed by Ivana Chýlková. That alone is nothing to write home about. I decided to bear with the movie because of a single actor, who was completely unknown to me – Franciszek Pieczka. I don’t know him at all, I didn’t understand a single thing he said, but his acting performance paralyzed me. Other than that, I can safely say that today we have much better movies available on a similar topic. ()
