Enn Säde and Jüri Müür, who has passed away in the meantime, have made several critical movies about the problems in agriculture. By revealing topical abuses with their documentaries they hope to create a consciousness that will facilitate a solution to the difficulties. Several times, they had to struggle against opposition of the government and their films were not, or laboriously, released for distribution. This was the case with Künnimehe Väsimus, which Müür and Säde made together in 1982. This documentary is a critical analyis of the severe negative consequences of the centrally planned agricultural policy. A policy which imposes a new technology without taking into account the specific needs and conditions of the farming-land in Estland. (International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam)
