angol I was curious about this new film by Dušan Rapoš. For example, if it was going to be the Czech-Slovak traditional romcom set somewhere in a dream world like in a catalogue, if the script will be a bad translation of an already bad novel, etc. Yet the result is far better than anyone could have hoped for. It is a purely Czech story with Czech actors set in the Prague environment and there are no unrealistic locations. The script was written by the experienced married couple Rapoš and Vejmělková, both of whom are film veterans from the 1980s and have had ample time to observe the development of the genre in recent years. The product placement is not overly evident, and if it has to be there, it is functionally embedded in the plot. There’s nothing is missing and nothing excessive, and everything just fits together. There are no traditional vices of unnecessary dialogues or superfluous scenes and even the music is used in a funny way and humorous situations are simply shown and they are no longer explained in a simplified form. The only negative is the cameo and very weak song by Helena Vondráčková. If Rapoš had released Women's Revenge ten years ago, we could have saved ourselves the time and nerves of much worse genre attempts and not had to be so kitsch. In this way, he raises the bar in a place that no one expected, and in return, he brings his beautiful wife back into the wider public consciousness. ()

angol I won't pretend that I didn't count with this rating in advance a little bit, but despite its limitations, I am quite flexible as a viewer, so I was prepared to give more stars if it had been successful. Well, it wasn't. Once again, it was one of those typical Czech comedies of recent times where a very weak script serves only as a basis for product placement implementation. Otherwise, it was a truly believable story from everyday life, after all, who among us occasionally doesn't throw away a Ferrari like an empty beer can, right? The dialogues were, of course, traditionally well-written. ()

angol Women's Revenge reminds me a bit of a parade of unsympathetic oxen and cows, and I'd rather not mention the lameness of the script. I apologize for the cattle comparison, but I couldn't think of anything more appropriate. I could only watch Jakub Kohák from the cast without self-restraint, which I don't consider good publicity for the movie. And if this was supposed to be a funny comedy, I must be from Mars, because I didn't laugh at all. I’m giving one star for the surprisingly decent ending of this strange farce. (15%) ()
