Radio Olmos

On August 17, 1993, a unique social and cultural event took place in Lisandro Olmos prison – a high security facility: a rock festival for the inmates. The performances were recorded by seven camera teams who documented shows by Attaque 77, Animal, Pilsen, Lethal, Massacre, Hermética and the British band uk Subs in the prison courtyard, presented by Norberto “Ruso” Verea. A quarter of a century later, restored footage helps us to understand what the event meant as we note the tense gazes of the participants, and feel the unique energy of being part of such a dangerous but meaningful project.
