Wet Season

Ling, a 40-year-old teacher, tries effortlessly to become a mother, amid a state of apathy from her husband. She surrenders to her daily routine until she gets into a new relationship where she rediscovers herself and, more importantly, fulfils her dream. In his second feature film, Chen presents a unique and rich visual experience following the journey of a middle-aged woman trying to rediscover herself. She crosses paths with a teenage boy who himself is discovering the world and testing the feelings of love and abandonment for the first time in his life. The film presents its plot using a cinematic style of storytelling, while employing a creative visual presentation. (Cairo International Film Festival)
