The dead are coming back to life outside the isolated Mi'gMaq reserve of Red Crow, except for its Indian inhabitants who are strangely immune to the zombie plague. Traylor, the local tribal law enforcement, armed with a gun, a hangover, and a six-pack, must protect his son's pregnant girlfriend, pothead father, and drunken reserve riff raff from the hordes of walking white corpses infesting the streets of Red Crow. angol I like the concept, fitting a zombie apocalypse in the local politico-historical and social realities of Canada is a very good idea that could have been the starting point for a memorably good and important film. But the execution is not very successful and Blood Quantum ends up being terribly dull, derivative and, above all, awfully boring; I had serious trouble keeping my attention. The characters are extremely unlikeable, I wasn’t interested in them at all, on the contrary, most of them actively pissed me off. The gore is quite decent but without deviating from many other zombie movies. For me it’s, first and foremost, wasted potential. ()

angol An inoffensive zombie B-movie from Canada. It doesn't bring anything new to the table, of course, but it's quite fun to watch. Visually, it's average and the actors are rather mediocre, but the film has its merits elsewhere and that lies in the awesome gore. Here the make-up artists went all out and serve up some really decent brutal scenes (the scenes where a zombie hangs upside down by just his guts or the motorcycle going through a head were awesome and looked really good). I also liked the presence of Indians, a samurai sword and a certain grind house feel. Fans of zombie flicks and gore will enjoy it. Story**, Action***, Humor**, Violence****, Entertainment****, Music***, Visuals***, Atmosphere**, Suspense**. 6/10. ()

angol Canada is threatened by a zombie plague, and the only people who appear to be immune to the virus are the natives. In addition to that, they are given no choice but to fight for their own survival. This is a brooding and yet quite action-packed horror movie that bizarrely works by going through a whole range of different atmospheres - from comical, almost grindhouse-type scenes where cackling Indian scouts are decapitating zombies with their swords, to severely depressing outbursts of desperation, plus cruel injustices done to likeable characters. This emotional rollercoaster ride will certainly not be appreciated by that many audiences, but it is definitely necessary to try and appreciate a slightly different take on stories about the walking dead, especially when they are done like this cool, stylish and superbly shot movie.
