(Galaxy4)

Hová lett egymillió dollárnyi kötvény? (1991) (S03E03)

angol I was intrigued by the fact that part of the film takes place on the Queen Mary, especially because the historical events were nicely incorporated into the story. Poirot is once again solving a case that has a surprising outcome, which is simply satisfying. But one gets the feeling that Agatha simply had the knack for leading a mystery in such a way that you basically didn't know who the murderer was until the end. ()

A Plymouth Expressz (1991) (S03E04)

angol I wasn't really hooked on this episode, even though I'm glad Hastings is back, although he didn't disappear for long. The plot is quite interesting, but personally, I don't really like the twist, or rather the revelation, of how she was seen somewhere despite being dead. This is too much of a cliché for me. ()

A darázsfészek (1991) (S03E05)

angol To write a detective story about a case that has not yet happened in reality is simply a demonstration of mastery. Especially when such a detective story actually works. Agatha entrusted it to the brilliant Poirot - who else - and this story was excellently brought to the screen. A beautiful example of how it is possible to make a detective story without any murders. ()

Tragédia a Marsdon-birtokon (1991) (S03E06)

angol Great episode that will captivate mainly with its horror atmosphere. It simply succeeded and it remains properly dark until the end. Even though you suspect that everything has a completely realistic basis, you still can't help but start thinking that the ghosts are real and that there is something to the haunting. It simultaneously maintains Poirot's humor. ()

A kettős nyom (1991) (S03E07)

angol It's such a peculiar episode. That detective case is nothing great, but it's not bad either. It's mysterious. However, the viewer's attention is completely drawn away from the case itself because what is much more fundamental is that there is also room for love or romance in Poirot's life, or whatever it should be called. In that aspect, the film works wonderfully. ()

A spanyol láda rejtélye (1991) (S03E08)

angol Seeing Poirot dance is an experience in itself, but here is also an interesting, rather gritty story about a murder. Death in a Spanish Chest is definitely one of the more gruesome ones that occur in the series, moreover, it is surprisingly depicted in a very graphic way, although the main emphasis is still placed on the viewer's imagination. The plot is pleasantly intricate. ()

A királyi rubin elrablása (1991) (S03E09)

angol This comedic plot is truly well-done in this case, especially the meetings between Poirot and the prince are excellent, as these are two perfectly different characters. The plot with the ruby is also not bad at all, and the various Christmas props are quite innovatively utilized. Additionally, throughout the whole time, you don't know what is happening, who is dead, and who isn't. In this aspect, the episode is successful. ()

A Viktória bál esete (1991) (S03E10)

angol Poirot is absolutely perfect at the ball, especially in the way that he is the only one without a costume, even though he says otherwise. He fits in perfectly there like a figurine. The story is connected to the radio broadcasting, which is also where the murderer is eventually revealed. That is absolutely brilliant and adds something extra to the whole detective story. ()

A vadászház titka (1991) (S03E11)

angol Excellent, both in terms of comedy and in the case of the detective plot, even though disguises are used again, which becomes clear to the viewer quite early on. This story, in this sense, is taken almost to the point of absurdity, which works beautifully. Poirot and his portrayal are truly excellent and fit in perfectly with the overall serious tone. ()

Az ABC gyilkosságok (1992) (S04E01)

angol Definitely one of the best parts of "Hercule Poirot", where it is shown that Agatha indeed had a great gift for writing detective stories and presented a truly unique murderer here. It is worth it, just like the whole plot, which is splendidly built up and incredibly well thought out. Here, you really won't know for a long time who is killing and why. ()

Halál a felhők között (1992) (S04E02)

angol Once a murder happens right in front of Hercule Poirot, moreover on an airplane, and he doesn't even notice, it's definitely something worth paying attention to. Hercule then conducts a fantastic investigation, which includes reconstructions, a lot of traveling, and a classic resolution in front of a group of people, where you have no idea who the actual killer is. A great episode. ()

A fogorvos széke (1992) (S04E03)

angol To be the people who are near Hercule Poirot, I start to be afraid. So, this detective goes to the dentist and a few hours later, the dentist is found dead. But with the dying, it starts to get even more rich and there are more dead bodies. Excellently combined and the plot is brilliantly brought to the very end. ()

Az egyiptomi sír babonája (1993) (S05E01)

angol As soon as something happens in Egypt, I'm simply enthusiastic about it. I love Egypt. Moreover, here you can see Hercules in Egypt, which doesn't suit the sand and heat at all. That is also a beautiful contrast. Agatha managed to explain perfectly how the curse of a tomb can work if it is exploited by an intelligent and twisted person who knows a little about psychology. ()

A másodhegedűs (1993) (S05E02)

angol Once politics comes into play somewhere, it's not as interesting to me anymore, but in the case of Poirot, it doesn't bother me that much. When you make someone out to be a dead person who was quite nasty, you almost feel like they deserved it. The investigation is quick, interestingly conducted, but you still can't help but feel that this is one of the less captivating episodes. At least it's somewhat amusing at times. ()

A sárga írisz (1993) (S05E03)

angol I really liked the way the story is told here. First of all, Hercule Poirot uncovers a past event that has obviously had consequences in his present. It's a detective case from Poirot's past that he simply has to solve, even though he hasn't been able to do so yet. And of course, he will solve it. ()

Az eltűnt végrendelet (1993) (S05E04)

angol Maybe it's not such a strong episode, but I still enjoyed it. Essentially, everyone could have been the murderer, everyone could have been involved in the killing, everyone had some secret and many did not even know about it. Seeing Poirot angry also has something to it. The resolution was interesting and I must say, beautifully tangled, making it difficult to guess. ()

Az itáliai nemes esete (1993) (S05E05)

angol Such a calm episode, where someone does die again, but the whole thing is in such a relaxed spirit, when you have a slight suspicion about who the murderer might be, somehow from the beginning, because there is one too surprising element. The series is still good and manages to be suspenseful. Here, it also uses a bit of those cars that Hastings is very close to. ()

A csokoládésdoboz (1993) (S05E06)

angol I was quite curious about this episode thanks to the title and I must say that it did not disappoint me at all. The use of the candy box is quite good and it is evident that Agatha always had ideas. The outcome is excellent, but overall it is a very good idea the way it is told - through flashbacks that have an influence on the present. It has already been used in the series, but it won't get boring anytime soon. ()

Halott ember tükre (1993) (S05E07)

angol It seemed to me like a slightly weaker episode, although it is quite compensated by the one who is actually the killer. In essence, anyone could have been it, which was eventually confirmed. The killer didn't even cross my mind. This is mainly because the episode is full of clues that point to all possible characters. This effectively maintains the tension here. ()

Ékszerrablás a Grand Metropolitanben (1993) (S05E08)

angol A quite enjoyable episode that begins with something being wrong with Hercules. He appears to be very ill. He needs a break. But how can a busy detective rest when crimes are happening in his close proximity? It's not about a murder, which certainly does not mean that this episode is boring or lacks suspense. ()
