Rocks

Living with her single mother and little brother in working class London, teenager Rocks (Bukka Bakray) spends most of her time roaming through the city with her supportive and energetic group of best friends. Returning home from school one day, Rocks finds her mother has disappeared, leaving her alone to take care of her brother and find a way for them to continue living under the same roof. Created in close collaboration with her cast of remarkable British newcomers, director Sarah Gavron eschews the expected beats of Rocks’ story with a remarkably honest, empathetic, and ultimately uplifting take on the power of perseverance and friendship in the toughest of situations.
