Even Henri Goetz had his surrealistic periods, but his portrait is considered to be a longitudinal documentary. For about three weeks, we watch the creation of a real painting. The end of the film marks the symbolic end of a work of art. At the same time, a kind of filmed meditation on the painting arises. And of course there is plenty of abstraction and jazz – eminently inspiring elements for Resnais. (Ji.hlava International Documentary Film Festival)
