Two convicts make a daring escape from prison and take several hostages before hiding out in an abandoned town. However, despite the hostages' warnings, they are completely unaware of the fact that the very same town they're using as shelter is the site for a military exercise -- where the next morning an atomic bomb is set to be dropped. A film noir with an atomic bomb twist, which nonetheless remains quite intimate, but in the end, it suits it rather well. With only a few characters to focus on, you realize that the film is based on the characters and some of the scenes with them are not badly written at all. The finale was also nice in terms of the trick used. It's not a unique noir film, but it's good.
