Ernesto is a Cuban actor who decides to try his luck in Mexico in an important theater company. Failing to succeed in his attempt to land the lead role, he is stranded in Mexico City. Faced with the dilemma of returning defeated to his homeland, he accidentally meets Belen, a street actress who tells stories in the subway to earn a living in exchange for a few coins.
