Where the villains from your favorite TV shows end, Oz begins. In a place where you won't find a purely positive character among fellow inmates and where fate loves to throw massive obstacles in your way. And where there is no place for a bright happy ending. Every character is dragged by their demons, and even a slightly involved viewer is immediately dragged into the mud as well. In Emerald City, even the most sensitive natures won't survive, and that's also the reason why the show, despite its high quality, didn't gain a wide audience even after six seasons. Although when it comes to the deepest depths of the human psyche, you will hardly find anything comparable, for me, this is emotionally too demanding of a viewer's hell. But for fans of the most dramatic tests of human fate, it is undoubtedly number one. Favorite characters: Ryan O'Reily, Tobias Beecher, Tim McManus.
