A dél-amerikai dzsungelben, őslakos indiánok között élő különc orvos, Robert Campbell (Sean Connery) hátat fordított a civilizációnak. An ode to the rescue of nature, Deforestation, and the Issue of decreasing green areas on our planet. Simply put, it is presented powerfully, narrated smartly, and fairly well-acted within the genre. There are some phenomenal scenes, and just as important as the director's name is the main music composer, none other than the legendary Jerry Goldsmith. Although Medicine Man addresses current politics and the relationship between humans and nature, it is more of a classic adventure and thrilling story about the search for a cure for the worst disease of mankind, so the message remains somewhat halfway.

A beautiful film that I have to give five stars to. The Connery+jungle+amazing Goldsmith+McTiernan+cinematography combination will always fascinate me. The film is touching, entertaining and informative, and it deserves praise for not becoming a cheap environmental agitprop, although it could have been.
