Flock of Four

Since Joey was young, jazz music has been an integral part of his life. He plays it with his friends, his heroes are the jazz greats, and it stands as the last connection between him and his since-passed father. Now it's 1959, and despite the changing times, Joey and his friends remain passionate about the music. After hearing on the radio that legendary jazz musician Pope Dixon will be playing somewhere on Central Avenue, the four high school students become determined to see him. Unfortunately, Central Avenue at night isn't the most welcoming environment for a bunch of middle-class white kids. This won't stop Joey from tracking down his hero. (Austin Film Festival)
