Catch the newest magical academy series from the studio behind World Break: Aria of Curse for a Holy Swordsman! Once known as the Black Master Swordsman, Kanata Age has fallen in favor with the people of Misutogan after a harrowed battle against the Devil Beetles. Deemed a traitor, he has earned the scorn of his peers and classmates. Kanata is happy enough to fade into the background, until one day he is asked to become the teacher of Fireteam E601 aka the F'ed up Fireteam. Rico Flamel, Lecty Eisenach, and Misora Whitale make up E601 and have yet to see a single victory. But it's hard to work together when your team is made up of a self-proclaimed goddess, a coward, and an incapable leader. Not to mention when they mistake him for a pervert. But, Kanata must take these three failures and turn them into winners. Will they trust the man known as a traitor? Or is there more to his story that he just forgot to mention? (FUNimation)

angol It will take quite a long time to analyze Sky Wizards Academy because, in my opinion, this is one of those shows that I would describe as contradictory. It has some good, some average and some bad points, some of which I found very bad. I am going to start with what I think is terrible. Once again, the CGI monsters are awful and could not possibly be scary if I hated the dragons in Unlimited Fafnir, and I was slightly disillusioned by the way the insects looked in Black Bullet. However, I was laughing at the monsters in this show. This computer-generated thing is supposed to be a terrifying insect that makes all of humanity tremble? It did not scare me at all. I did not like it, and watching fighting with this thing pissed me off. The other thing I would get rid of is the "red-haired hysterical girl" character Misora; she is another one of those whiny and, for me, unbearable creatures, not hyperactive yet still irritating. Next, I am going to focus on what I consider to be the weaker aspects. Aside from some really hilarious and nicely drawn views of the flying academy, the animation is poor. It offers what I think are rather slightly sloppy character illustrations. Overall, I was not fond of the visuals, with a few exceptions. However, it was not so bad as to prevent me from watching the show. The humor is dumb and mostly clichéd, trying to address things like which female protagonist has the bigger boobs and offering stupid situations. For example, when the main male protagonist walks in the door and the girls change there, or the male protagonist runs, collides with a girl, and ends up with his hand on her "boobies," all ending with cries of the "pervert" and of the angry female protagonists as usual. It is just that - and I do not know how many times I have written this about an anime series - there are too many clichés and it is so predictable. If I know what is going to happen beforehand, I do not feel very entertained. I never found levitation in space very amusing, and air surfing is not my cup of tea either. Plus, the fighting did not send any chills down my spine; they were hardly thrilling. The narrative was very average. There was nothing new going on; it is something similar to the aforementioned Unlimited Fafnir, Black Bullet, and other similar anime series like "humanity is in deep trouble, perhaps on the verge of annihilation, and the only ones who can save it are some gifted teenagers." However, I have not gotten tired of that particular cliché yet, and I am always quite happy to watch the battle to save humanity, even though the original "hype" I once felt strongly about is long gone. Then there is Rico Flamel; this girl is somewhat contradictory, just like this show. She has her flaws, she comes across as a pretentious "nag" who can be quite irritating, and her behavior is also annoying. However, she has some very good moments, and I found some of her lines quite amusing. So when I add it up, I find myself somewhere in the middle: sometimes I would quite like to punch her, and sometimes I want to say "good job." Anyway, in the end, I decided to focus on the stuff I quite like. The concept of "heroes equals losers" is nice, and when the main male protagonists are not too over-the-top, it is nice when they are the outcasts, the misfits, the ones you would not expect much from. It gives room for potential growth and personality development, and I like seeing character development throughout a narrative. I did not find the main male protagonist Kanata bad; they gave him an interesting backstory. However, I could already figure out a lot of things, so he is not that interesting or unpredictable. Then they threw in a relatively cool character, and the main male protagonist does not make a big deal out of the girls; he tries to understand them, deals with the girls without any problems, and I quite like the way he behaves. He is not extremely distinctive, although I thought he is definitely among the better and more interesting of all the show's characters and similar characters from other shows. Admittedly, it took a while to get Lecty because this girl is so primly shy and awkward that it comes across as over-the-top rather than cute. However, these moments are kept to a minimum, and I got used to them fairly quickly, so I ended up enjoying Lecty in the show. Admittedly the soundtrack does not always suit the show and the plot, and occasionally I had to pause for thought because I did not get why they used certain music for a particular scene. In general, the music worked quite well though, and some of the theme songs were quite enjoyable to listen to. When I do my maths, it is not exactly average. The negative aspects prevail, and that is why I rate it two stars, or if you want, 3.5/10. Because I slowly got tired of watching it and found every episode less and less interesting, until I eventually dropped it after the sixth episode. () (kevesebbet) (több)
