After his best friend dies in a racing accident, biking star Joe agrees to go back on the wheels for an exhibition in Chile. On a test run with his girlfriend Stephanie, they stumble upon a badly injured man dying from a mysterious virus. The Chilean-Canadian-French horror film Downhill relies heavily on being quite gory at the end, which actually suits it quite well. Yet the plot doesn't really stand out, it's a classic forest survival, the only advantage of which is that there are a few really quite ugly scenes that made me feel a bit sick. And then there's a lot of boredom and horror clichés. I won't give away what they do with the combination of redneck horror with another element, but it's not downright bad.
