Films with Zita Kabátová were bound to arrive after all the prior success. However, another novel, this time by Maria Blažková, did not have as attractive of prizes in the competition as the girls' roles in the film adaptation. The proven Zita has been supplemented by Věra Ferbasová, who has improved year by year, and the debuting Eva Gerová. It was a lucky choice because both Věra and Eva soon blossomed as excellent comedians. The plot may be too modern and pessimistic, but there is no reason to turn up one's nose at this film. Apart from the main female trio, the film dazzles with shots of Prague of the time, and we get the best jokes from Pištěk, who has a better ordering clerk than the trio of babes Kysilková, Balek-Brodská and Nollová. Every now and then I find myself in the mood for Bela Tringlerová. (2013.12.13)
