Tartalmak(1)

A nightmare world of machines are taking over the Earth. At first the problems seem minor as gas pumps stop pumping fuel, video games flash and beep uncontrollably, and soda machines spit change and soda pop wildly. However, when the carnage begins, a small group of people make a last stand against a horde of massive 18-wheelers. A comic horror flick from Stephen King, based on his short story "Trucks." angol Stephen King was given the opportunity to film his own short story, Maximum Overdrive... And he went about it with obvious enthusiasm. While in the book only cars came to life, here, as the master himself said, everything from a lawnmower to a soda machine could come to life (a stunning scene, by the way). The result is an extremely wacky, morbidly black-humored mechanical variation on Hitchcock's The Birds, in which anything is possible and in which something happens from beginning to end. That "something" is also very King-like. Those who are familiar with the master's literary style will be delighted by his typical spectacular, almost apocalyptic moments, such as the opening sequence on the bridge (falling cars, flying melons...) or the little boy's ride through the town where everyone is dead. The soundtrack was also provided by AC/DC, so there's not much to talk about in that regard... I feel like giving a fifth star for the cameo appearance of the director/screenwriter/author. ()

angol Maximum Overdrive is basicly Stephen King on so much coke. It is simultaneously a very bad and also very unique movie. Plus, it is fun to think about what is going on. ()
