angol Learning about Rakugo, which completely blew me away, I was curious to see anime series about Kabuki, another part of traditional Japanese culture. Unfortunately, at the start, I was already quite disappointed that the presentation of the art of Kabuki would once again take place in the typical style of a high school club. Thus, there is no space for any kind of deeper narrative, and everything is practically very similar to a lot of other anime series about high school clubs. Despite that, as I found everyone's enthusiasm for Kabuki believable, I was quite satisfied in the end. In addition, the diverse cast of characters, who were probably the biggest draw of the whole anime series, made it all quite watchable. Unfortunately, as much as all of the show's protagonists loved Kabuki, it did not quite grab me in the end. I believe that it is probably a nice and dramatic spectacle in real life; however, in this show, it came across as more of a bizarre thing where everyone speaks very loudly in a singing voice. So, in the end, it seemed strange rather than something impressive. 6.2/10. ()
