A thousand years after the world was rebuilt with clockwork, machine-obsessed Naoto Miura becomes the master of an automaton named RyuZU. When this beautiful piece of machinery crashed into his apartment, Naoto's superhuman hearing allowed him to fix her broken cogs-but little did he know it would land him squarely in the middle of a horrific government conspiracy. angol If my name were Bender Rodriguez, I would have probably enjoyed this show a lot more. However, I have to say that some of the shots of this world made up of gears and clockwork mechanisms were interesting and impressive. So the setting had some potential; unfortunately, that is more or less it. The whole fundamental problem has already been described in a review by Scalpelexis - they have just shoved so many gears and clockwork mechanisms together that the machine somehow runs, even though nobody really knows what its purpose is supposed to be. The unclear purpose means that even though it tries to perform multiple functions, it does not do anything particularly well, jack of all trades, master of none. The functions include philosophizing about the nature of humanity, creating a kind of political conflict, showing off with impressive action, assaulting our emotions and even the baser human instincts. This set-up barely works at all, and the odd combination of characters does not help either. There is just Daddy shouta, Mommy lolita, Daughter robo-lolita and her older sister, who Daddy shouta is drooling all over - it is worse than Futurama’s All My Circuits. Even so, I still finished it and did not find it extremely irritating (despite all the wasted potential), although I suspect I am not going to remember it after a while. 3.7/10. ()
