35 év házasság alatt sok minden történik: a tökéletes harmóniától a súlyos kudarcokig. Az idő nagy részében a házaspárt a mindennapi élet gondjai és örömei kötik le, amelyek együtt járnak a gyerekneveléssel, a háztartás vagy a vállalkozás vezetésével. Éppen így van ez a bútorboltos Ivana és Vaclav Strnad életében is, akiket a rendező 1980 óta követ a kamerájával egy „Házassági történet” elnevezésű projekt keretében. Az új egészestés film kapcsolódik a ciklus tévéfilmjeihez, de nem nélkülözi a megrendítő fordulatokat a házaspár és a gyerekeik életében. (Verzió - Nemzetközi Emberi Jogi Dokumentumfilm Fesztivál)

A selection of the two best Marriage Stories diluted by the last act, which fully shows that Třeštíková's method is currently completely toothless and random. Where in the 1980s she was sharply able to capture the ordinariness of normalization and in the 1990s the tenacious effort to "survive her family and entrepreneurship", in the last third she introduces sparse speech therapy, a random collection of moments and increasingly self-serving intrusions into the private relationships of several people. Unease and helplessness are actually quite mild terms. A better word is impotence. It's a pity, I consider The Strnads to be the pinnacle of Marriage Stories, but their feature form does not come close to the penetration of two television documentaries.

The relatively exceptional and unconventional life of one family, which is brilliantly captured over a period of time. You get everything In this documentary – family, love, relationship crises, educational crises, separation, several weddings, a happy ending. The Strnads have a unique family charm that is a joy to watch. At the same time, their life development and diligence will hopefully bring them great satisfaction. I am glad that they shared their story with the public and I also compliment Helena Třeštíková, who once again proved the quality of her on-going work.
