Egy hideg szombat reggel öt diák tölti büntetését az előkelő középiskola könyvtárában: a jó sportoló, a punk, az úrilány, a családi gondokkal küszködő tolvaj és az iskola esze, a csodagyerek. A nap folyamán ez az öt, szinte idegen ember ráébred arra, hogy sokkal több bennük a közös, mint azt valaha is álmodták. Alaposan megismerik egymás összes problémáját, de ami a legfontosabb, nagyon sokat tanulnak saját magukról. Az első, ami összehozza a társaságot, a megvetés, amit a dékánnal szemben éreznek, aki kimérte rájuk a büntetést. Kezdetben mindenkinek az idegeire megy a bezártság, és egymást kezdik gyötörni, ideiglenes szövetségeket képeznek, közös ellenséget keresnek, percről percre változik a csoport dinamikája. A nap folyamán mindannyian rájönnek arra, hogy ők is az előítéletek rabjai; s nemcsak szót érteni tanulnak meg a másikkal, hanem odafigyelni a másik problémáira is. (Galaxy)
