No, I learned something new about Britain again, and that's why I am so satisfied with the series. This was a powerful episode, the creators equipped it with such a tense atmosphere that people who make disaster movies should learn from them. After the previous episode, I could hardly wait for the fourth part to impress me similarly, but this was so different that it couldn't possibly be more. Such a situation would never occur in Brunei, as constitutional monarchy brings its own challenges for royal families. However, Filip's media "cleverness" was amazing:-) (2020.01.29)

In the fifth episode, the creators somewhat sidelined Elizabeth and actually the entire royal family, and I can't shake the feeling that it was a mistake. The hint of an anti-government coup with Lord Mountbatten's involvement didn't captivate me as I wished, and the whole episode left me rather unsure. (2020.01.29)

I was very satisfied with the sixth episode, Josh O'Connor was a terrifyingly good choice for the role of young Charles and Charles' Welsh odyssey didn't bore me at all. The constant friction between the English and everyone else clearly keeps Britain together. The Welsh, Scots, and Irish feel such dislike towards the English that they try to stay as close to them as possible so they can say it to their faces. (2020.01.30)

The seventh episode was somewhat atypical for this series. From what I saw, the episode had to find its fans as well as its opponents. Basically, it would have been an extremely boring matter if it hadn't been for the incredibly well-developed insight into the psyche of the Duke of Edinburgh. In this way, it was almost impressive and Brutus was on fire. (2020.01.30)

And again, there came a basically unremarkable episode, but I can't help it, I liked it. A lot. It amused me how the reason for the abdication of Edward VIII was reduced only to his relationship with a divorced American woman, and completely forgot about his positive attitude towards fascism, but I still enjoyed it. The ninth episode wasn't exactly great, but it was definitely very good. Once again, the creators managed to achieve a decent mix of politics and personal relationships, and apart from the complicated relationship between the government and the miners' trade union, there was also a exploration of the roots of a truly long-term issue. Princess Margaret once again showed, after some time, that she is a significant character in the story, as more than half of the final episode revolved around her. Besides her tropical adventure, there were also significant state matters, so for me, the finale of the third season was successful. (2020.01.30)

My expectations of the fourth season weren’t high. I expected another celebration of a person who I hadn’t been very fond of from the outset, but the creators had a massive surprise in store for me. I find this series impressive for its neutral approach. It looks at things from different angles, and everyone gets their share of criticism (or sympathy). It's impossible not to mention again Gillian Anderson's great performance as Margaret Thatcher, which I really enjoyed. Now I can officially look forward to the fifth season. (2021.02.12)

The creators continue to excel in casting, consistently hitting the mark with each character. It's truly fantastic. However, I found the beginning of the fourth season somewhat lifeless — not in reference to Lord Mountbatten's fate, but in the overall atmosphere. (2021.02.10)

Rating the second episode proved to be quite a challenge for me. While it was certainly an improvement over the opening episode, I couldn't shake the feeling that the show's creators are capable of delivering even more. As one of the few dissenters in the Lady Di fan club, her calculated charm has always left me feeling a bit queasy. So, it's safe to say I won't be eagerly anticipating the fourth season. That said, I have to give credit where it's due — Emma Corrin's performance was commendable, whether I like the character or not. However, it was Gillian Anderson's fantastic portrayal that sealed the deal for me, earning that fourth star. This episode was mostly focused on Diana Spencer, and surprisingly, I found it quite enjoyable. Emma Corrin deserves another round of applause for her portrayal; she truly nailed the essence of the character. (2021.02.10)

Episode four finally delivered the proper royal vibe I've been craving, reminiscent of earlier seasons. The plot captivated me this time around, particularly the Queen's amusing interactions with her children. Gillian Anderson's stellar performance adds another layer of excellence, and the introduction of the Falklands "incident" only heightens the intrigue. (2021.02.10)

I felt a slight dissatisfaction with the balance between the war conflict and Michael Fagan's storyline, even though I get that he was supposed to be a symbol for the unemployed masses. Gillian Anderson's presence, however, continues to be a highlight for me. Episode six was a breath of fresh air, proving that the creators weren't afraid to stray from the beaten path, even if it meant facing backlash from die-hard fans of the supposed "perfect" princess. Unlike some filmmakers, they embrace diverse viewpoints and refuse to put one neurotic character on a pedestal. It's a refreshing departure from the norm. (2021.02.11)

Initially, I braced myself for a lackluster plot, fearing the creators would resort to mere "filler" material. Yet, to my surprise, the episode exceeded my expectations. Even though I consider myself a cynical bastard, it seems that there is always room for growth, and things can always get a little worse... (2021.02.11)

Sometimes I wonder if I should still watch The Crown or if it's time to focus on the series C. 10:-) Gillian Anderson takes up all the space for herself in every scene, and I definitely don't mind. Thanks to her, the episode was quite fulfilling, and that counts. (2021.02.12)

My concerns about the portrayal of the Princess of Wales in the fourth season were quickly dispelled right from her first appearance. The creators approached her character in a completely different light, and this episode only solidified that for me. Great satisfaction all around. (2021.02.12)

The season's grand finale was almost perfect, except for one big flaw - the departure of Margaret Thatcher (Gillian Anderson) from the series. I already know I'm going to miss her. However, the main focus of the episode on the relationship between Charles and Diana was a welcome one, as it wasn't about romance, but more like a softer version of the War of the Roses. (2021.02.12)
