Times are tough for television, as the internet is taking away viewers as well as constantly new television channels, and so the willingness to take risks drops somewhere close to zero and proven TV formats bought from abroad come into play. I don't know what this show is like elsewhere in the world, but here it has slid into a typical beginner's musical show with cringy jokes and judges who are awkward entertainers. Nevertheless, I wouldn't condemn this mass entertainment and I would feel like a poser if I gave it a Boo! rating. At least in the first season, some performances were funny and had flair, although it is evident in the choreography that they are nowhere near the originals. I've seen individual performances on the internet, so fortunately, much of the wisdom of the judges and the host will remain hidden from me. I would give two stars for the first season easily, but the quality of the performances goes down in the second. As a compilation of the best, free from the worn-out baggage of the judges, I would even consider three stars. Overall impression: 25%. (2016.09.28)
