Robin of Loxley és egy mór harcos szilaj története ölt testet ebben a vakmerő és vagány históriában... A keresztes háború véres csatamezőin edződött nemes, Robin of Loxley (Taron Egerton) nem is sejti milyen kegyetlen és korrupt erővel kell szembenéznie, mikor visszatér angol földre, ahol a Notthingham-i seriff a szent háború égisze alatt teljesen kisemmizte alattvalóit. Robin és mór barátja, Little John (Jamie Foxx) az ártatlanok védelmében egy merész tervet eszel ki: ellopják a kincstár aranyát, és megdöntik a seriff uralmát. Robin kemény harcossá képezi ki magát John segítségével, majd álruhát ölt, és úgy fosztogatja a gazdagokat, és osztja szét az aranyat a szegények között. A népben remény ébred a titokzatos tolvaj láttán. De vajon a féktelen csuklyás nyilai elég gyorsak lesznek ahhoz, hogy egy hadseregnyi katonát legyőzzenek? Judging by the trailer, which depressed me in theaters the year before last, I was expecting something worse. Instead I was quite amused by Robin Hood's admitted lack of historicity in the opening monologue. The crusade looks like a scene cut from Black Hawk Down, the guards in Nottingham are simply a hit squad faced down in the finale by thuggish anarchists whose Molotov cocktails shatter against riot shields. In the process, quite topical issues are tackled, such as xenophobia and the haves and have-nots. Why not? I like Taron Egerton and Jamie Foxx too, and they were quite good as partners. It's just... It's just that it's still not a good movie, because the script full of annoying catchphrases sucks and Otto Bathurst clearly wanted to do a Guy Ritchie impression, but King Arthur: Legend of the Sword and its personality, predatory nature, and fun just remain in sight. Average.
